I finished the Wildflowers…
Remember those wildflowers that I began working on in September? Well, I finally finished them! This was a glorious spring, summer and fall for the explosion of colorful wildflowers in the roadsides and uncultivated areas. One of my favorite flowers, Queen Ann's Lace, seemed to last longer this year or perhaps they bloomed twice. For awhile it seemed as if those yellow daisy-like flowers had taken over the fields with their sunny blooms. So even when the sun wasn't shining there was a brightness in the countryside. I cannot remember a more glorious year for wildflowers!
I offer you this beautiful bouquet of transparent watercolor flowers this Sunday morning. These blooms were a gift picked by my youngest daughter. In years past she would ride her horse out into the fields and return with gifts of the same. Just as I did these, I would capture those bunches of wildflowers in paint. There are many bouquets of wildflowers displayed on the walls of several of my collectors. These flowers will never fade and can be passed on for generations.
